A Nigerian boy, Solomon Soremekun, was crushed to death by a lift
after getting out of his pushchair and walking into the shaft, Irish
media reported on Wednesday.
According to reports, Soremekun was in the company of his mother and three siblings at the time of the incident.
He reportedly got out of his pushchair after he became separated from
his family on the first floor and went through open lift doors into the
shaft. Unfortunately, the lift came down and crushed him.
Efforts by emergency services to save him were unsuccessful, the little boy died.
His body was deposited at the University Hospital Galway where a postmortem is expected to take place.
The death is not suspicious and is being treated as a tragic accident.
Two separate probes into the incident are now under way.
A Health and Safety Authority spokesman confirmed it was looking into the boy’s death and investigators attended the scene.
I don't undertand! If the death was not suspicious, why a postmortem? Why investigation? Is it that the cause of the child's death is not known? Was it not out of carelessness on the part of his mother? How can one leave a three year old child all alone by himself? What kind of civilization is that? The child's mother should be dealt with! Let them forget about postmortem & investigation.
