Eagles beat Mozambique

Nigeria put up a much improved showing the opening day loss to Mali to beat Mozambique 4-2 in a CHAN Group A match in Cape Town on Wednesday.
However, the Eagles remain in third place after hosts South Africa were forced to a 1-1 draw by Mali in the earlier group game.
On Sunday, they tackle Bafana, while Mali and Mozambique do battle at the same time to determine the two teams through to the knockout stage.
The first 20 minutes produced four goals. Mozambique went in front after 10 minutes through a spectacular free kick by skipper Dario Khan from just outside the centre circle.
But just before the Mambas could really celebrate the, Nigeria restored equalised when Enyimba striker Ifeanyi Ede slotted home from inside the box after a flick-on from a long throw-in.
And two minutes later, Kano Pillars playmaker Rabiu Ali put Nigeria ahead when he fired home from well outside the box.

Mozambique split open Nigeria’s defence to score their second goal which tied the game at 2-2. The match ended 4-2 to Nigeria.

Skipper Chigozie Agbim then denied Mario Sinamunda with his outstretched leg on 15 minutes, before Diogo equalised for Mozambique.
The Mambas ripped open the Nigeria defence and allowed Diogo to round up Agbim and coolly slot home his second goal of the tournament in the 20th minute.
Rabiu Ali again put Nigeria in front in the 54th minute, when he tucked away a penalty after a hand ball by Mozambique. The penalty was hotly contested as the Mozambican player had his hands behind his back when the ball was played.
Substitute Barnabas Imenger made the game safe when he calmly chipped home when clear of goal two minutes from full time.
