During the week, we received a report from one of our dear readers who shared and revealed the culture of the Idoma people of Benue state.
This incident occurred on Thursday 19th September at Orokam, Obadigbo Local Government area of Benue State.
The woman pictured in the above photograph, is said to be the wife of a popular school proprietor in the area . She lost her husband on Tuesday, and was accused by her husband’s people of having committed adultery which she admitted she was guilty of.
Further revelation by members of Orokam stated that there is an oracle called “ALEKWU” in the town which .....

The Oracle supposedly issues out a warning to the husband of any adulterous woman of which if he fails to take appropriate actions or return to the village from wherever he is to perform the proper rites for cleansing himself and his family, he will die.
“This was the case of the proprietor as he failed to adhere to the instruction of the oracle” a villager revealed.
They had to walk the town naked in a bid to averting the punishment and eventually cleansing the land.
She was afterwards sent packing to her father’s house and banned from attending the funeral of her husband.

ReplyDeletePreachers what is new, This is truly bad act but why strip people naked just because they cheated having sex with each other? my people wakeup there are more important things to show about Nigeria. Nigeria is not a land that is clean or really support morals. Am sure this can only happen in a Village, but in the same village many are sleeping with under-age girls and still clam they have more moral up brings. I do not support this act, at the same time they are grown-up who surely know what is right from wrong. Please people cast your stones if its right to treat this people like that. The worst the husband should do is let the woman leave his house. The husband could also be somebody with two or more wife, why disgracing the woman publicly. I wish the woman would get herself a good lawyer to pump money out of her husband, and village because their is no such law in Nigeria that says somebody have the right to stipple people naked.

Everything will be over when Jesus will take charge and push satan away. Don't be shock of whatever u see or hear...bcos we still have the descendants of those who put Jesus to death. Even pharaoh, Goliath and many who were against God. Some are still living the old testament life. Jesus did not say...when someone commit any sin that the person should be put to death or strip the person naked. There are several ways u can punish someone not by stripping or killing! we actually know the right to do...bcos of wickedness and the devil that lies in our heart does not show us the better way to punish when one sin against the law. It's so unfortunate anyway! Remember we are living in a wicked world.
