NEA 2013 NOMINEE LIST IS OUT

The President of the NEA, Tope Esan announced the nominees from all thirty-four categories and some of the nominees this year include Iyanya’s Kukere and K9’s Kokoma for Hottest Single of the Year, Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji and Uche Jombo for Best Lead Actress, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince and Vector for Best Rap Act and for Best Comedian BasketMouth, Bovi and Senator were also nominated. The nominee announcement event is an opportunity for all nominees to be celebrated in Nigeria surrounded by their fellow industry peers, and supporters before the official award ceremony in New York. 

Voting begins online on June 28th. Fans are encouraged to support their favorite artists, actors and actresses, comedians and entertainers by voting and encouraging others to vote as well. The 2013 NEA Awards is scheduled to take place on Sept. 1 in New York City.

Breaking news: PDP suspends Gov. Amaechi

The crisis between the leadership of the People’s  Democratic Party and the Governor of Rivers State, Mr.Rotimi Amaechi assumed a new dimension on Monday when the governor was suspended from the party.

A statement issued by the National Publicity Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh in Abuja, said the action was taken after an emergency meeting by members of the National Working Committee of the party.

The meeting, he said, was held on Monday.

He said the NWC at the meeting, considered petition written by the Rivers State chapter of the party against the governor for violating some sections of the party’s constitution.

Metuh said the  governor was suspended “for violating Articles 58 1 (b), (c ), (h) and (m) of the PDP Constitution following his refusal to obey the lawful directive of the Rivers State Executive Committee to rescind his decision dissolving the elected Executive Council of Obiokpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.”

Metuh aid his case was being referred to a disciplinary committee of the party.

Our correspondent reports that the NWC is searching for members of the Disciplinary Committee that will hear the case against him.

The committee may be inaugurated later today.

AMANDA BYNES FIGHTS RIHANNA OVER CHRIS BROWN

Amanda Bynes went on a vicious, unexplainable Twitter tirade against Rihanna on Sunday.

According to TMZ, Bynes posted a series of angry tweets about Rihanna's looks before promptly deleting them.

"Chris Brown beat you because you're not pretty enough," she tweeted. "No one wants to be your lover so you call everyone and their mother."

Rihanna shot back, "Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention?"

Bynes responded again, "unlike your fugly faced self I don't do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met your ugly face in person. U aren't pretty u know know!"

She deleted that tweet soon after too.

"Knife in The Hand of The Be-header" Michael Adebolajo finally confirmed British

The acclaimed "British Nigerian" Michael Adebolajo who killed a British soldier in the Woolwich area of southeast London was arrested in Kenya in 2010 near the East African country's border with Somalia.

He was believed to have been preparing to train and fight with the al-Qaida-linked Somali militant group al-Shabab in 2010 when he was arrested with five others.

The Kenya government arrested him as Michael Olemendis Ndemolajo. He was handed over to British security agents in Kenya before he later found his way to London as Michael Adebolajo.

My question is why did they hand him over to the British Security agents if he was actually a Nigerian?
