The BET awards was held earlier in the month and Davido won the award for Best International Act - Africa.
But controversy ensued when reports claim the award was presented to him backstage.
In a swift reaction, Davido spoke with Channels TV at an event to celebrate the BET nominees and winner held yesterday Wednesday, 16th July 2014.
According to Davido, the whole scenario was misunderstood as he denied receiving his plaque backstage.
It would be recalled that when 2Face Idibia and Wizkid won, their awards were presented via a taping while a TV presenter talked to them about various topics and presented the awards to them.
But now, 'Best International Act: Africa' and 'Best International Act: UK' winners get their awards via the pre-show.
