OLIVER TWISTS: Kidnappers Reject N30m Offer For President Jonathan’s Foster Father

The abductors of President Goodluck Jonathan’s uncle and foster father, Nitabai Inengite, have rejected an offer of N30 million made by the victim’s family. Mr. Inengite has been held captive by the kidnappers for 13 days now.
President Jonathan is in Otuoke (his home town) on a routine family visit. The abducted Chief Inengite doubles as the President’s Uncle and foster father.
Several reports say the kidnappers are holding out for a N500m sum after rejecting the N30m offered by the family of the kidnapped because it was “paltry”.
Kidnappings in the Niger Delta have become a pastime for the militant locals who have abducted a sibling of the President’s aide, the mother of Nigeria’s finance minister, Human Rights Lawyer (Mike Ozekhome) and the father of the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, in recent times. Huge ransoms have also changed hands in the process.
