Real Madrid striker, Ronaldo de Lima, has stated that Lionel Messi will
pick up his fifth straight Ballon d’Or prize next January.Cristiano Ronaldo has emerged as a hot favourite to take home the accolade, but the Brazil legend believes that the neither the Portuguese forward or Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery can stop the Argentine.
“Messi has spent the last five years playing so many matches and he is the biggest star in world football. Now, this injury isn’t serious, but maybe resting will allow him to recharge his batteries.”
The former Selecao forward won FIFA’s top individual prize in 1997 and 2002, before he retired from football.
