Njengo, was a regular member of the Manu Garba-led team during the qualifying series for the 2013 CAN U-17 Championship.
The deceased’s condition was reported to have been worst than Abubakar’s, who sustained head injuries and shoulders and was immediately admitted at the Federal Medical Centre in Jalingo.
NFF President Aminu Maigari, who was at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, had ordered Njengo to be moved from the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, to the National Hospital Abuja two days after the crash.
An operation was performed on the player at the National Hospital and he was thought to be recovering, though still suffering from bouts of amnesia , until his death on Sunday night,
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) stated on Tuesday that burial arrangements would be announced after consultations with the family.
