The pair worked together at Real Madrid, although their relationship deteriorated towards the end of Mourinho’s time in Spain and the frostiness was shown to the world, when Chelsea played Madrid in a pre-season friendly in August. Ronaldo bagged a brace and turned to face Mourinho in the dug-out, pointing to his chest with a sneer. The former Inter Milan manager, had referred to Brazil striker as the “real Ronaldo”.
However, in a new interview with France Football, Mourinho was singing a different tune.
“Coaching him was the highlight of my career. He’s the most professional player I’ve ever met,” the ‘Special One’ said.
“A coach and player may have their differences at a given time, but it ends there. I don’t have any problem.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is out of this world.”
