FG releases N200bn for capital expenditure

The Federal Government on Wednesday released N200 billion for the execution of various capital projects in 2014 budget.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Paul Nwabuikwu, the Special Adviser on Media to the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.
“This is the first release of capital expenditure of the year and will be followed by others,’’ Nwabuikwu said.
He noted that the release showed the determination of the Federal Government to ensure that clear and measurable progress was achieved in the execution of capital projects.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 2014 budget presented to the National Assembly has passed second reading in the senate. (NAN)
