Early this morning, armed men clad in Army uniform, invaded the National Assembly legislative quarters in Apo, Abuja, 
The gunmen it was gathered struck at about 2:30am on Friday, firing several gunshots that shattered the peaceful neighbourhood.
Reasons for the attackis unknown, but about ten persons were shot by the assailants.
Unconfirmed reports say eight were killed, while two others were wounded.
A resident was quoted saying  “I heard the gunshots. Those living around there said about ten people were shot just behind the mosque inside the quarters”.

Efforts to get the reaction of Mr. Femi Ogunbayode, Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, proved abortive as calls to his mobile line went unanswered.
He has not replied a text message by our reporter as at the time of filling this report.

PHOTOS: 8 KILLED AS UNKNOWN GUNMEN ATTACK APO, ABUJA Unknown gunmen dressed in military fatigue stormed an uncompleted building behind Legislator’s Quarters in Apo, Abuja in the early hours of this morning Friday September 20th killing over 10 people. The people killed were inhabitants of the uncompleted building, mostly abokis who polish shoes and sell water. According to eyewitnesses, the owner of the uncompleted building had warned people who pass the night in the building to desist from it, but they refused. Then the massacre this morning happened. A survivor said they pay someone N200 every night to sleep in the uncompleted building and had been harassed and warned severally by military men to stop coming there…but they couldn’t because they had nowhere else to go. A resident in the area said that at about 12:30am he heard gunshot severally throughout the night, causing panic in the area. The number of people who died may be more than 10. image

  5. if u call Nigeria crap then go to Iraq,syria,libya,parkistan,congo republic,somalia or sudan....stop giving negative reports..there were all members of Boko Haram,opened fire on sigthing security operatives on intel.the uncompleted building there is their hide out..
