Mammoth rabbit Darius’ diet of 4,000 carrots each year has helped him hop into the record books as the world’s biggest bunny.
The rabbit, who weighs three-and-a-half stone, is officially the world’s biggest – and he has the appetite to match, munching through 12 carrots a day, as well as cabbage, apples and two large dog bowls full of rabbit mix.

Darius measures 4ft 4inches, which is almost the same same size as Mia, six, a friend of his owner, with whom he is pictured.
Owner Annette Edwards, 62, from Worcester, has to fork out £2,500 a year just to feed her giant pet.

Were-Rabbit: Darius the giant rabbit gorges on hay throughout the day in between his two monster meals.
She said: “If Darius had his way he would never stop eating. He is very greedy. I have to really watch him.
“I let him eat as much hay as he likes, on top of his food, but he always wants more. I have to be careful about how many carrots I let him have because he loves them – especially the green tops.
“He has a great personality and so I can’t be too angry when he is trying to sneak more food.
“Darius eats me out of house and home but he is very active which is good for his health.
“There is no secret to growing the world’s biggest rabbit. I just look after Darius as if he was a dog. I treat him really well and indulge him in the odd carrot or 12.”
Five-year-old Darius is a Continental Giant rabbit and he holds the Guinness World Record for the title of World’s Biggest Rabbit.
