Fast Rising Stage Manager Lanre Makun Named Stage Manager For 2014 Ay Live Concert Series

Corporate World Entertainment, the organisers of Ay Live Comedy Concert has announced Lanre Makun as one of its stage managers for the 2014 edition of the premier comedy and music concerts which is currently billed to hold in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and London.

The company revealed that Lanre, who is the younger brother of popular comedian-AY, was chosen based on his pedigree in the field of stage management and television production which has spanned over five years across various states in the country. The talented stage manager has over the years worked on various Ay Live Concerts in London, Port Harcourt, Abuja and Asaba. He also worked on the Lagos must laugh with Seyilaw Live in Muson Centre and the Shakara and the Gang Concerts. 

Speaking on the development, a visibly elated Lanre who is also the CEO of the Dressing Room, a classy boutique located at 10 YesideAbeke Street off Enitan Street, Aguda-Surulere, disclosed that he got into event management and television production as a result for his passion packaging qualitative programs for both live and television audiences. “I have been working behind the scenes for a long time to make sure that the finished product that is fed to either the live or viewing audience is always worth their while.”

The fast rising stage manager expressed his gratitude to his big brother, AY, for training him in the act of stage management and television production. “Ay encouraged me in the world of showbiz. He gave me an internship position in his company and he groomed my budding creative skills to maturity. As I improved in my craft, he gave me the jobs I cut my teeth on and those made other event organisers to recognise my skills and the jobs have been coming in very steadily.”

Lanre went on to reveal that he had continually worked at improving his craft in other to make sure that every new project he works on is a continued improvement on the last one. “I always review my past projects and analyse the mistakes so that such mistakes are not repeated in future projects.” He also revealed that apart from understudying Ay, he also understudied the legendary Eddy Lawani when he worked with him on the Warri Again Concert series and OmoTalabi with whom he has worked on the Lagos edition of the Ay Live Concerts. “It is this wealth of experience that I am bringing to bear on this year’s edition of the Ay Live Concert series across the country in order to make sure the audience have a great time.”
